Mozambican Ildo Nandja is a versatile and progressive bassist and multi-instrumentalist with an ambitiously cross-fusion approaches bent towards contemporary influenced jazz. Ildo's music gained popularity and attention in 2016 in South Africa, with the release of his debut album ‘’Pâz Á Todos’’ which gained wide recognition within the PanAfrican jazz charts. As an activist and peace builder involved in community building, Ildo’s music is an instrument and a medium which expresses awareness about the situation of the world, addressing issues such as unity, justice, equality, calamities, pandemics , gender and social cohesion amongst many more aspects that can contribute to the betterment of world. IIdo uses his African rhythmical abilities and expertise to express advanced harmonic concepts to his compositions. His sound blends PanAfrican rhythms and melodies with Jazz, European and contemporary world music influences. These musical diversities reflect his experiences and the result is a combination of an experimental eclectic sound. Apart from leading his Jazz Trio, Ildo is a steady fixture within the Rotterdam Jazz and world music scene, working along with groups such as Karisma Flamenco, Pianist Siu Tin Chi, Singer song writer Ishtar Bahktali, and Hip-Hop artist Kay Slice.
